2026 Dance Showcases: Important Information

Hello TADA Families! 
It’s that time of year again — Dance Showcase season! This is a longer email, so we appreciate you taking the time to read it in its entirety. Below you’ll find important information about showcase dates, costumes, expectations, and more.

Our 2026 Dance Showcases, Seasons in Motion, will take place this May and will celebrate the skills, growth, and artistry our dancers have developed throughout the academic year. Each participating student will be charged a $25 recital fee, not to exceed $75 per family. This fee helps offset modest operational costs associated with producing these events.

The recital fee will be automatically posted to each student’s account unless we hear from you opting out of the showcase by January 30, 2026.

As is tradition, our Dance Showcases will be presented in two formats: a Main Showcase for our older students, and a Junior Showcase featuring our youngest dancers.

We will once again have a Showcase Blog on our website that will be regularly updated. 

Costumes
Each participating class will have a $25 costume fee. This year, the Woodland Opera House will order individual costumes for each participating dancer and oversee distribution.

In recent seasons, we’ve explored different approaches to recital costumes. To keep the process manageable, consistent, and less stressful for families and staff, we’ve shifted costume purchasing back to the theatre while keeping fees modest.

Once your child receives their costume, it is their responsibility to bring it to all dress rehearsals and performances. After the final performance, the costume is yours to keep. As in previous years, items such as ballet skirts or similar pieces may also be worn in class on designated Fridays.

If you choose to participate in the showcase but wish to opt out of a specific class, please let us know by January 30 so our teachers can plan accordingly.


Dress Rehearsals & Participation Expectations
Attendance at your child’s assigned dress rehearsal is required to participate in that weekend’s showcase performances. Dress rehearsals are a crucial part of the process, ensuring that students can safely and confidently perform with their class.

We recognize that graduating seniors may have end-of-year academic or school-related commitments. Seniors who wish to participate in the showcase but anticipate conflicts with their assigned dress rehearsal must contact both their instructor and the Education Director in advance for approval. Approval is not guaranteed and will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Please note that requests to miss dress rehearsal to participate in performances will not be approved unless there are exceptional circumstances.

Attendance, Behavior, & Refund Policy
Regular attendance and appropriate classroom behavior are required for participation in the Dance Showcase. If a student’s attendance or behavior prevents them from being adequately prepared to perform, their instructor may determine that the student should be removed from the showcase. This decision will be made with care and in the best interest of the student, the class, and the overall performance.

Please note that recital and costume fees are non-refundable if a student is removed from the showcase due to attendance or behavior concerns, or if a family chooses to withdraw after fees have been paid.

Video Audition Submissions for Solos/Duets/Trios for those in any dance level 2 or higher will be due March 6th. More information will be released soon. 

Blocking Week:
Classes will be held on half-hour increments during their normal class day, Monday, May 18th, through Saturday, May 23rd.* Schedules will be released closer to this week. 
*Please note that any Friday class will meet on Saturday morning
