Pre-Professional TrainingFounded back in the mid-2010’s as a way to provide more opportunities for the top of next generation of young performers at the Woodland Opera House, Broadway Bound is an audition-only training and performance group that meets weekly each academic year from September to May. All members are between the ages of 12-years-old and 18-years-old (high school senior.)

Tuesdays: 6:00–7:00 p.m. – Group Acting Class with Shilah Walters
Wednesdays: 4:30–5:30 p.m. – Group Vocal Rehearsal with BB Music Director (TBD)
Wednesdays: 5:30–6:30 p.m. – Group Dance or Specialty Rehearsal (with BB Director, Andrea St. Clair)
About the Program
Broadway Bound is an elite training and performance ensemble designed for students who are passionate about musical theatre and ready to challenge themselves in a focused, supportive environment.
Each week, members receive targeted instruction in acting, voice, and dance. When not actively rehearsing for a scheduled performance, students participate in a variety of workshops, including:
Broadway Bound members serve as ambassadors for the Woodland Opera House and are held to high expectations of professionalism, collaboration, and commitment. Members and families are required to sign a contract of expectations at the beginning of the academic year.

- Vocal technique and music theory
- Acting through song, scene work, and monologue development
- Dance fundamentals, choreography projects, and musical theatre dance history
- Improvisation and ensemble-building exercises
- Rehearsals for upcoming events

Requirements
- Students must be enrolled in weekly private voice lessons or vocal coaching
- Students must be enrolled in a weekly ballet, jazz, or hip-hop class. This class does not need to be through the Woodland Opera House, but doing so is encouraged to allow for teacher progress tracking and support.
Broadway Bound members are expected to participate in the following:
- The Big Reveal – January 2026 (Date TBD)
- Spring Musical Theatre Workshop, Magic and Misfits – April 18–19, 2026
- Dress Rehearsal: Saturday, April 18 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
- Performances: Saturday and Sunday at 2:00 p.m.
- Broadway Bound Cabaret – May 2026 (Date TBD)
- Various National Anthem performances and community events throughout the year

- The Sacramento Republic FC soccer team*
- The local Cal Ripken and Little League baseball leagues*
