Dance Showcase

Junior Showcase - 2 PM Show Sold Out!

5/14/2025

Hello parents,

Our 2:00 PM Junior Showcase on May 24th is officially sold out — what an amazing show of support for our youngest dancers!

Some good news, though: We’ve just released 28 additional tickets! These are seats we typically hold back due to limited visibility, but they still offer a fun way to be in the room and cheer on your performer.

These seats are located on the far sides of the balcony and are not wheelchair accessible. Because they’re not part of our usual ticketing inventory, you won’t receive assigned seat numbers. Instead, once you've purchased your ticket online, just bring your receipt to the Will Call table on May 24th and we’ll hand you your physical ticket(s) there.

We’re so excited to share this special day with you — thank you for your enthusiasm and continued support!

Main Showcase - Reminders & Weekend Information

5/14/2025

Hello Families!

Our dress rehearsals are going well and as we gear up for our final dress rehearsals and weekend of performances, we have a few reminders.

THIS IS A LOT OF INFORMATION SO PLEASE READ IT IN ITS ENTIRETY!

There is also a special event in the plaza on Saturday and that information is contained at the end of this message.

Hair/Makeup
Please remember to send your child/teen with hair/makeup ready to go.
  • Hair should be clean and slicked back (no whispies!) in either a bun or a ponytail as instructed by your instructor. For shorter hair, it needs to be either gelled (boys or pixie cut) or clipped back away from face.  Certain classes may have received different information from their instructor, which supersedes this information.
  • Makeup should enhance natural features so that dancers faces are not washed out under the lights. Mascara, blush/rouge, and lipstick are always good baselines to have.

Jewelry
  • Dancers will be asked to remove all necklaces, watches, and bracelets (if they are "permanent jewelry" they will be asked to tape it to their skin so that it does not snag on a costume.)  If something is sentimental or precious, leave it at home!
  • Only stud earrings can be worn.

Tights
Please check for holes and send your dancer with clean tights!

Costumes
  • All costumes and items must be clearly labeled with the dancer's name!
  • Good rule of thumb: if you have multiple numbers, please arrive with items on a hanger and/or in a garment bag.  We have hangers and racks for you to hang items on as well.

Please only bring a bag if you have multiple dances as to not clutter our small backstage space!

Call time for Performances
All dancers are called 45 minutes prior to the start of the show.
  • For a 7 pm show, call is at 6:15.
  • For a 2 pm show, call is at 1:15.

As it may take time to check dancers in, arriving EARLY is better than LATE.

Saturday's Shows

The Soroptomist's have a Wine Event in Heritage Plaza from 2 to 5 pm and the building will NOT be accessible from Main Street. Please arrive early to allow time to find parking!

We know that large events like our showcases take a village to pull off, and we’re so grateful for your support, flexibility, and enthusiasm throughout the process. Thanks for being part of the magic!

Costume Requirements - Update

4/10/2025

Dear Families,

As we prepare for our upcoming showcases, we wanted to provide some context around costume expectations and fees to help keep things clear and transparent.

This season, we’re trying a new approach. With over 300 students participating across both showcases, costuming on this scale is no small task. In an effort to keep things manageable for families and our staff, we’ve created simple, class-specific costume requirements—most of which are approximately $20 or less per student. These are modest requests that are in addition to the $25 recital fee.

That recital fee helps cover operational needs—including cleaning (especially for borrowed costume items), teacher and staff support during performance days, and other essential showcase logistics. We’ve worked hard to avoid the common model of charging $80–$100 per costume per class - as many other studios do - and this new structure reflects our ongoing commitment to keeping our program as accessible and affordable as possible.
Many of the costume pieces are built around items your student already wears to class as part of their regular dress code, and we're doing our best to avoid unnecessary or one-time-use purchases.

That said, we know mistakes happen—especially when compiling costume lists for this many classes! While we’ve caught many already, if anything looks off or confusing, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re happy to double-check or clarify.

And as a little bonus: starting next season, we’ll be introducing a “Free Dress Day” at the end of each month, where students can wear fun dance-appropriate clothing outside of dress code—including many of their costume pieces, if they’d like.

Thank you for your flexibility and continued support. We can’t wait to see your amazing performers take the stage!
Warmly,
Ms. Andrea
