GENERAL AUDITIONS: WOH SEASON 2026/27

We are excited to introduce a streamlined audition process for our upcoming season!  General Season Auditions will be held on April 11th from 1:00-5:00 p.m. at the WOH Theatre and Dance Annex. These general auditions are for adults and teens and are designed to help us build a strong casting pool for the entire season. Please note, the Woodland Opera House is a local community theatre and all acting roles are unpaid.
WHY YOU DON'T WANT TO MISS THIS
Audition once. Be considered all season. By attending General Auditions, you place yourself in consideration for every production in the season or just the ones you want. No waiting for multiple audition announcements. No signing up over and over. No worrying that you missed something.

SHOW-SPECIFIC AUDITIONS
Each production will continue to hold its own open, show-specific auditions approximately one month before rehearsals begin.
These auditions are open to everyone — even if you did not attend General Auditions.

PLEASE NOTE: No casting decisions will be made at General Auditions. Some performers may be invited to callbacks for specific productions later in the season. To ensure all directors have the opportunity to review performers, General Auditions will be filmed. Recordings will be used exclusively for casting purposes and viewed only by Woodland Opera House 2026/2027 season directors and choreographers. 

GENERAL SEASON AUDITION DETAILS

WHEN: Saturday, April 11th from 1:00-5:00 p.m.  
Mandatory group dance/movement audition for all participants: 1-2 p.m.
Individual auditions (by scheduled time slots): 2-5 p.m.

AUDITION LOCATION:  
WOH Theatre and Dance Annex, 520 Court Street
WHAT TO EXPECT
The purpose of General Auditions is to:
  • Hear vocal ability
  • See movement
  • Identify performers who may be a fit for multiple productions​

A NOTE ABOUT ANNIE AND RISING STARS PRODUCTIONS
Children do not attend General Season Auditions. Young performers auditioning for Annie and/or a Rising Star production will audition specifically for that production approximately four weeks before rehearsals begin.

WHAT TO BRING / HOW TO PREPARE

  • Sign up for an audition slot.
  • Fill out the online audition form. (Paper forms will also be available at the auditions).
    • Upload or bring a headshot with a resume (if you have one)
    • Upload (link is available in the audition form) or bring a backing track for an extract of  a contemporary Broadway song that best shows off your voice and acting ability. It should be no longer than 1 minute. 
  • Dress to move & arrive stretched/warmed up. You will be asked to learn and perform a short piece of choreography to demonstrate your dance/movement ability. Only dance shoes, bare feet, or socks are allowed in the studio. Please bring tap shoes if you have them.

Rock of Ages - Performs October 9th - 24th, 2026
Annie - Performs November 13th - 29th, 2026
9 to 5 the Musical - Performs January 15th - 30th, 2027
Anything Goes - Performs February 26th - March 13th, 2027
Come From Away - Performs April 23rd - May 8th, 2027
INCLUSIVE CASTING NOTE: Actors of all genders, identities, ages, races, body types, physical abilities, and ethnicities are encouraged to audition. Individuals of any gender may be cast for any roles, but actors must be willing to play the gender associated with the character.
