The Nutcracker "Sweet": A Delightful Holiday Tradition
Our enchanting production of The Nutcracker "Sweet" features talented dancers from our Academic Ballet Classes Levels 1 through 5. This annual tradition showcases the dedication and artistry cultivated in our ballet program, providing dancers with an opportunity to shine on stage.
Dancers wishing to be considered for principal roles or to join the corps de ballet must participate in our annual Summer Nutcracker Intensive. Held over the course of a week each summer, this intensive is open to students in Academic Ballet Level 2 or higher. During the intensive, dancers learn material, audition for principal roles, and are assigned understudy positions. Once the academic dance season begins in the fall, participants return to weekly rehearsals to prepare for the production alongside those also in Peter and the Wolf.
The production is co-directed by Ania Mieszkowska and Crystal Rea, both integral leaders in our ballet program who inspire and guide our students to reach their fullest potential.
Step into the Symphony: Peter and the Wolf
The annual presentation of Peter and the Wolf features dancers from Academic Ballet Levels 2 and higher. This beloved tale tells the story of young Peter, who ventures out of his grandfather’s garden and faces a thrilling adventure with a wolf, aided by his animal friends.
Dancers for Peter and the Wolf are selected during the Peter and the Wolf Summer Ballet Intensive, where they learn the choreography and audition for roles. Understudies are also chosen during the intensive. Once the academic dance season begins in the fall, participants return to weekly rehearsals to prepare for the production alongside dancers from The Nutcracker "Sweet."
This production - featured in a production that also includes The Nutcracker "Sweet" - highlights the skill and dedication of dancers in the ballet program, providing an opportunity for growth and artistry.
