Pick-up: Is at the front of the building. We will excuse children once their parent/guardian is present. Please be timely with pick-ups as we have a very short break between sessions! Any student 12 and over is able to have a family member sign a PERMISSION TO LEAVE GROUNDS form. It is attached to this email. Please return a signed copy on the first day of classes. Only those with a signed PERMISSION TO LEAVE GROUNDS form will be allowed to leave without a parent/guardian present. There is a $1/minute charge for picking up children after a 10-minute grace period. What to bring: A water bottle. (Please label water bottles with your name.) A nutritious snack. No gum or toys are permitted. When we start rehearsals in the theatre, please note that only water is permitted. What to wear to class: Comfortable clothes that allow free movement and dance shoes or flexible soled canvas sneakers. No jeans, flip-flops or sandals. Reminder notes may go home with your child if they do not arrive dressed safely or appropriately for their classes/rehearsals. Group assignments are determined strictly by birthdate and cannot be changed. We understand that being in a different group from a friend can be disappointing, but our age-based grouping ensures that activities and instruction are developmentally appropriate and balanced for all students. Thank you for understanding and helping us maintain consistency for everyone involved. Note: Parents are asked not to stay and watch as it can be a distraction for the children. Students are not allowed to bring friends to class. Costumes: The opera house will supply the cast with a Show Biz Kidz Performance T-shirt. You will need to provide solid black pants, long black socks, and black jazz or black ballet shoes for the performances. A detailed costume sheet will be sent at the end of the 2nd week of classes. Performances: Friday, July 11th at 7 pm, Saturday, the 12th and Sunday, the 13th at 2 pm. Actors will arrive 45 minutes before show time. All performances are mandatory. Attendance: Consistent attendance is critical for success in the program. Absences will affect the student’s ability to perform any song learned on that day. Teachers will decide if a child will be dropped from performing a song due to absences or behavior. Tickets: We will have a pre-sale beginning on Tuesday, June 24th, 2025 for all ShowBiz Kidz families. More information will be released soon. We look forward to seeing you on June 16th.
