ShowBiz Kidz Final Week Information

SHOWBIZ KIDZ IMPORTANT UPDATE:

All Show Biz Kidz Groups will switch to the THEATRE at 340 2nd Street, Woodland as of Monday, July 7th. 

FINAL WEEK REMINDER:  Monday, July 7th through Friday, July 11th:  All students come to show run-through rehearsals from 9:00 am-12:00 pm. All dress rehearsals will be at the Woodland Opera House Theatre (340 2nd Street). 

Important Info:
  • There are no classes in the afternoon that week. 
  • We will not stop for a snack break. Please do not send food that week – Only Water is allowed in the theatre. 
  • Please be sure your child eats a substantial breakfast on those days and that they get plenty of rest.  
  • There is both a dress rehearsal and performance on Friday, the 11th.  
  • Final week rehearsals are very important. No absences are permitted unless already preapproved by the Education Director. No other requests will be granted. 
  • Performances are mandatory.

DRESS REHEARSALS: Costume T-shirts have already been handed out. While students do not have to wear their costumes on Monday, July 7th,  students will be required to wear their complete costume to dress rehearsals July 8th through 11th and for every performance.

  • Show Biz Kidz Costume:  SBK T-Shirt

What you will provide:
  • Black leggings or jazz pants (long and must be solid black, no prints or colors!)
  • Black socks (long) 
  • Black jazz shoes or ballet shoes (with socks mentioned above)
  • Optional: black tank or camisole to wear under the t-shirt. (This is recommended for anyone that is doing any tricks or lifts onstage.) 
  • Good Hygiene:
    • It is hot under the stage lights, use of deodorant as needed is helpful. 
  • Hair Requirements:
    • Hair should be pulled neatly away from the face for all rehearsals and performances. 
    • Long hair: please pull back neatly (no fly-aways) with hairspray or gel.  Acceptable hairstyles (but not limited to): ponytails (low to fit prop hats), half ponytails, French/dutch braids, etc. 
    • Short Hair: if longer and in face, slick back with hairspray or gel.  Some may prefer to clip back hair away from the face. 
    • No bangs over the eyebrows for girls AND boys.  Bangs must be secured or use gel.

PERFORMANCES:
Students will be asked to arrive 45 minutes before curtain time for all performances. 


Important Info:
  • They may arrive with only a water bottle clearly marked with their name. Teens may bring a small bag for feminine products, etc. 
    • If a student has a medical need, please email Andrea St. Clair, Education Director, so that we are aware (inhaler, epi-pen, etc.) or if the medical need necessitates a snack or refrigerated medical item. 
  • Students should enter the theatre at the wooden stage door at the wooden steps by Dead Cat Alley. 
  • You will know that the directors are ready to receive students when the door is open.  
  • Do not send kids into the Opera House through the elevator if the wooden stage door is not open. The door will open when adult supervision is in place.  
  • Please have children arrive ready with shoes on. 
  • All students will be excused from the stage to family members.  We ask that you meet your child at the bottom of the stage so they can be released. 
    • If your child is 12 years old or older, they will be released if we have a signed Permission to Leave form on file. 

TICKETS:  Tickets may be purchased via our website: www.woodlandoperahouse.org.  Please do not go through third-party sites. Tickets will also be sold at the door if the performance is not sold out. 

DVDs:  A show DVD is available for purchase. Extra order forms are available at the front desk in the lobby at TADA. 

NO CAMERAS, PHONES OR VIDEO CAMERAS ARE ALLOWED DURING THE SHOWS.
